Based on the 1973 French play of the same name, the shows tells the story of a gay couple, Georges and Albin and the farcical adventures that ensue when Georges son comes home to inform them he is marrying the daughter of an ultra-conservative politician and needs them to pretend to be that as well. The anthem I Am What I Am is a show-stopping number and the basis of the spine of the production.
